Retractable collars

Our slip collars made of waterproof Hexa webbing are designed primarily for dog training and behavior correction, and are very popular in hunting. Thanks to the smooth surface, the webbing slides smoothly through the ring and allows for a very quick reaction. The collar is easy to maintain, does not slip in the hand, and does not absorb water. Choose a suitable size and color and rely on handmade production from our Czech workshop Ritega.

A slip collar (often referred to as a training collar) consists of a simple loop that smoothly tightens around the dog's neck when the leash is pulled. Unlike semi-slip collars, it does not have a fixed stop. Its main purpose is a quick and short correction of unwanted behavior during training, not continuous pulling or choking.

If the leash is slack, the collar lies loosely on the dog's neck. Because our Hexa webbing slides very well, it ensures immediate release of pressure right after correction. Due to its principle, this type of collar requires proper handling technique and is intended more for experienced owners.

Frequently Asked Questions about slip collars (FAQ)

How to properly use a slip collar?
It is used exclusively for a short and quick correction (a so-called jerk and immediate release) the moment the dog disobeys a command. It should never be used for continuous pulling, as it would choke the dog. As soon as the dog reacts correctly, the leash pressure must release immediately.
How to put a slip collar on the neck?
The collar is put over the head so that when looking at the dog from the front, it forms the shape of the letter "P". The leash is attached to the ring, which, upon release of tension, drops down by its own weight, immediately loosening the collar. If you put the collar on backwards, it will not release properly after a correction.
Is a slip collar suitable for a puppy?
No. For puppies that are just learning the basics of walking on a leash, a slip collar is not suitable. Incorrect handling risks injuring the cervical spine or airways. For puppies and small breeds, we recommend classic collars with a plastic buckle.
What is the difference between a slip and a semi-slip collar?
A slip collar tightens unlimitedly during a pull, depending on the force exerted by you or the dog. A semi-slip collar has a fixed stop, so it only tightens to a certain point to prevent the dog from slipping out, but it never chokes them.
Can I leave a slip collar on my dog when off-leash?
Definitely yes – a slip collar is like any other collar with which a dog can run off-leash.
